It’s been a long hiatus, huh? Glad I was able to update this
back again! Anyway, for my welcome back post, I’ve decided to come up with an
idea on how to deal with some common dilemmas mostly parents and kids
experience every first day of school.

Since the opening of the class is fast approaching except
for the public schools because they have just successfully opened the School
Year 2014-2015 today, I thought of sharing to you some of the ways on how to
deal with the common scenarios we often experience during the first day of
school.

The Common Dilemmas

Talking about common dilemmas, sure you too have your own
experiences about it particularly those parents whose kids have gone to school
for years now. For those parents who just sent their kids in school for the
first time ever, this is one of the challenging experiences you’ll ever experience
then.

Cry baby when you leave them

It’s very common to kids who are first timers in school. Although not really all kids do such thing but mostly, they are. How to deal with it is that simply introduce to them what is school, how it looks like, and what does it compose of. Don’t forget as well of telling them the purpose of going to school. Doing so should be done before the school starts. It may not be that easy, but telling them will lessen the fear they will have in mind. This also to make your life get easier.

Finding Names

This one is very common to public schools. Although not really to private schools, perhaps, this is still a common dilemma mostly parents experience always every first day of school. In order to avoid it, you can check your kids’ names before the first day of school starts. Teachers, just like parents, don’t want to be hassled by this common scenario too. Thus, they always make a way to lessen its severity by posting the list of the class’ names beforehand.

Security and Safety

It’s first day of school and perhaps, leaving your kids alone in the school particularly those parents who are new to leaving their kids behind could give you doubt if should you do it or not. For this problem, the only solution to it is that to inform the teacher to not allow your child to leave the classroom alone. Let the teacher be informed of who is possible to fetch your child later on. In this way, you can definitely make sure of the security of your child.

Foods bought outside

It’s back to school again and sure enough that a lot of vendors are going to tempt your kids and so as you too. However, one should keep in mind that danger could possibly arise during this time due to the fact that a lot of parents and kids are expected to come to school that day. Thus, it’s better to let your kids bring their own pack lunch and snacks for safety purposes.

Bringing of your other kids (younger than the student)

During first day of school, it’s very common to public schools to get crowded because of finding the names of the students. In this case, never ever bring any kids younger than the students. They could be lost anytime especially if there are many people are expected to come. This is to avoid possible problem that could happen. And so as to settle your student earlier as expected.

Looking for ways on how to handle such dilemmas is really
important especially if you’re new to it. This is to help you prevent of the
possible scenarios that could happen.

Illegal drugs have so much impact in my life. Well, what you
think is not really the real reason behind of it though. I don’t use illegal drugs,
ever since! Although I became the rebellious daughter of my parents, drugs have
never influenced me and never been part of my teenage life.

Perhaps, you’re wondering why. For some reason this
particular stupid stuff almost torn apart the relationship of my family. But
nevertheless, God is good for keeping it intact still. This is also one of the
reasons why the relationship of my kids’ father and I had gone.

Just today, I read a news- article about two
girls killed in Caloocan. It was really a tragic incident. And what’s
worst? There are no suspects yet, but then the people in the said place are
suspecting those drug users in their village.

I wonder if our government has ever noticed these practices
since it’s getting rampant these days. What does their reaction about this? How
about some plans or actions towards this problem? Does this particular problem will
ever be solved? I wonder when they will ever work on this.

How drugs can affect our society?

It has really big impact to our society especially for those
families of the victims and those innocents who will be influenced of these
illegal drugs sooner. With that, our government and as well, citizens should
act against with this plague in our society. There are varieties of drugs
nowadays such as ecstasy, speed/crank or commonly known in its street name as “shabu”, marijuana (although this particular stuff is legalize in other country, still it
is consider as illegal drugs for others) and so much more. And each of
these has its own side effects towards human if being used.

These specific drugs and those I haven’t mention above, can
ruin one’s life not just presently but in its future as well. It can also destroy
one’s family.

Why do drugs are addictive?

Drugs contain chemicals that results to a person to become
addictive on it. Since addiction is a form of abnormal functioning of one’s
mind, chemicals that are drugs made of take advantage of it.

Disadvantage of using illegal drugs:

For some reasons, there are unexplainable feelings that
mostly drug users why kept on using such thing- and that is the temporary pleasure.
At the same time, it also affects one’s behavior. Taking drugs, slowly damaging
one’s brain. Aside from the temporary pleasure a person could experience, there
are other side effects also will surely one will be experiencing which will also
lead to permanent. Side effects include anxiety, paranoia, headache, schizophrenia,
panic attacks, confusion and a lot more- in short mental disability.

Aside from that, it is one of the
reasons too why crimes are getting rampant. And what’s worse is that… more of the
crimes nowadays are very brutal and drastic.

How one can avoid using Illegal
drugs?

For users, getting a rehab is the best
remedy to avoid using illegal drugs. It can also help one’s self from getting
retardation and mental disability in the future. And aside from that, it is
believe to help lessen the crimes that are getting bigger each year.

In other hand, it is very
important too for parents to lead their child/children from possible
circumstances especially when it comes to teenagers. Peer pressure occurs
during this stage, and this is mostly the time teenagers are expose to drugs if
mislead by parents/guardians. Thence, guidance and regular update of parents should
be present all the time.

If we do not want to see our kids
suffer from mental disability or see them behind the bars and become one of the
killers of the future, better guide them. Be a parent!

Breastfeeding has been practiced for long already. Women
apply this particular method to those mothers who have babies since bottle
feeding has not existed before. Aside from that, even though bottle feeding would
exist, breastfeeding is still the best feeding method for infants below 6
months old.

There are important details and information why
breastfeeding should be implemented. And today, I’m going to share to you what
are those benefits and facts why every mom should apply this.

Advantage of Breastfeeding to infants:

“Breast milk is the best milk for babies”. Indeed, this saying
is definitely true. Aside from scientific explanation, it is also one way of
building “mom and child” bonding at early age of the child.

One of the benefits a child could get from the breast milk of
his or her mom is the colostrum. This is the thick yellowish in color substance
that is made during pregnancy and right after giving birth. This is the most
important substance every infant should have. This is their very vitamins; it
is rich in nutrients and anti-bodies which will protect their body until they
grow up. That makes it really important.

Unlike formulated milk, breast milk provides natural
vitamins and nutrients which are needed by infants. Aside from that, it also produces
enough mixture of fat, sugar and water wherein formulated milks don’t have the
capability to produce.

Not just that, breast milk also protects our infants from
possible diseases.

Breastfeeding doesn’t harm our kids. Unlike formulated milk,
mother’s breast milk is easy to digest especially for premature babies. It avoids
them to get gas pain compare in consuming formulated milk. With that, it is
really important for a woman- to be exact a mother to rely on her milk rather
than formulated ones.

Advantage of Breastfeeding to mothers:

Breast milk helps every breastfeeding mom to save money.
Instead of buying for formulated powdered milk which cost much and feeding
bottles as well, breast feeding has the capability to do the things which those
stuffs can do. Since breastfeeding is promoted worldwide; for sure it will no
longer awkward to breastfeed our child whenever we go even in public places
(just make sure to have baby sling or breastfeeding cover though).

Unlike from formulated milk, it’s easy to feed our babies.
No need for mothers to wash bottles and sterile it to feed their babies. Indeed,
saves time and effort.

It is also a good health practice for every mother. When a
woman practices breastfeeding, she is low risk from possible diseases such as
breast cancer, ovarian cancer and even from depression (postpartum depression
to be exact) as well. With that, there’s no reason for a woman not to
breastfeed her baby.

Those are just some of the advantages why should a woman
practice breastfeeding. Because in this way, they don’t just help their kids to
be strong but as well, help their selves to be far from getting sick in the
future too.

Pure breastfeeding (no
water, no food) is good up to 6 months old of the baby. And breastfeeding
is good up to two years old and beyond. I hope this helps you, especially those
expecting moms and new moms out there.

Lately, I’ve been reading a lot of news about bullying. I
thought this happens only in foreign countries. Unfortunately, it occurs in our
country as well. Recently, I heard in the news about bullying incidents which
took place in one of the schools in Metro Manila.

I wonder why school personnel and even teachers can’t
control things such this. To think, they are the ones who are with our kids almost
every day. And now, they can’t even manage to control commotions such as
bullying? How inconsiderate do you think is that?

And now, I just read an article about how an 11
year old boy turned bully to murder. This is so alerting already. Our
government should act something about bullying especially to kids below 15y/o.
But let me ask you. What do you think why some kids (bullies) bully other kids?

We all have our views and opinions. And today, I’m going to
share to you what are my insights towards this topic.

What are the common reasons why kids become bullies?

For sure, all of us are asking it to ourselves. But have you
figured it out already? There are plenty of factors to consider yet the main
reason why these attitudes occur in a person (in general) is the lack of guidance of parents towards
them especially when they (kids) we’re still young. Definitely, it is. Most of
them came from broken families. Although not all, but most of them. While for
others, it’s the lack of knowledge of parents on how to raise their kids.

Let’s stick to this tagalog idiom- “Kung ano ang puno siya
rin ang bunga” (Whatever the tree, so is
the fruit). What we used to have when we’re still young will reflect on how
we act when we grew up. It will also reflect on how we’re going to raise our
kids.

For sure, if you’re parents raised you according to what
they know is right… it will result though. It will only be called right if the
outcome of it had success but if not, then there’s probably something wrong
with it.

No one’s born perfect as to what the saying says. All of us
don’t know exactly how to raise a good and obedient child; yet, we know exactly
what things are right and wrong. As a parent, guiding them is really important.
Thus, being responsible enough not just to them and so to your family but as
well to yourself is really essential too. Because everything we do reflects to
what we’re going to come up with.

All of us will become a parent, sooner-later… all of us will
do. But not all are meant to be a good role model towards their kids. Do you
see those kids in streets begging for foods? Do you see those news reports
about hold-up, car-napping, bullying and so much more? They are mostly products of broken families.

Either your child is a product of a broken family; you can
still raise him to become a better person in the future. Just by letting him
feel he’s accepted in the society he’s into, he won’t be a bully neither a
victim of bullying. And as well, being there with them physically and
emotionally is also one should not forget.

To parents out there… let’s all make a new beginning. Let
us guide our kids and support them no matter what. Let’s all start to be a parent to
them.

I admit. I am rebellious daughter to my parents especially
to my mom. It was never easy in her part since my dad is away to work overseas
in order to raise us financially. Raising us physically is not an easy task. Even
from the beginning, she chooses to raise us alone instead of getting “yaya” to
help her in taking care of us. Although, we had one before but then… that’s
just for a meantime since mom works as a reseller of known plastic products
brand before.

Being a parent alone in raising 5 kids physically is not a

don’t understand why she’s so strict to us in terms of allowing us go to our
friends’ place or even strolling out from home. It started there.

When I reach my Highschool days, it gets worse. Although, I
became rebellious during that time I never fail to attend my class and give mom
failing grades at all. It’s just that, I get influenced much with “barkada”
(friends). I always go home late and
sometimes, drunk. My mom, of course, gets angry with me every time I always do
things like that. The time I reach 3rd year level, I got pregnant. I
didn’t see mom cried but according to our helper (who happens to take care of
our adopted brother), she did. I don’t know how it feels in her part until I
gave birth.

Now, I don’t know how much pain I gave her and so to my dad.
I don’t know how to repay the love and acceptance they gave to me after all
those bad things I’ve done to both of them. The trust I break. The
unconditional love I’ve wasted. The acceptance I keep on untying. I just don’t
know how to repay them.

But as a parent, nothing else’s they asked for. Instead,
they want me to become a responsible parent towards my kids despite of having
no partner neither father for them. You see, it’s very painful in their part. I
know, because I just can’t imagine if things I’ve done unto them will happen to
me soon. That’s running through my brain now, since the time I gave birth to my
youngest.

I may not have the power to restore the trust I’ve broken into
pieces, but I know in their hearts they’ve forgiven me for I am their child.
And as child, I should learn from my mistakes. And I promise this day, I’ll
provide them the love they deserve.

in my mind was to keep my attention to my kids whenever they play especially with
my eldest one who is really harsh in terms of revenge thing. He always makes our younger brother cry. That’s
why every time they play, I always make sure that those things that may cause

Giving vitamins especially vitamin C to our kids is really
important especially nowadays since weather changes from time to time. With
that, varieties of diseases are everywhere which possibly our kids can get.
Thus, letting them take vitamins everyday will help them boost their immune
system and so keep their selves from harmful sickness such as colds and coughs.

As a mom, I always make sure to keep my kids from getting
sick… thence, I always manage to keep them healthy and safe all the time. One
of the things I am afraid of is that they might admitted to hospital due to the
cough and colds they have especially to my eldest, Kuya G, who happens to be so
picky kiddo at the same time loves to play everywhere even at the dirtiest
place ever in our apartment.

With that, giving him vitamins such as vitamin C, iron and
multivitamins, I know that he’s far away from getting sick. Yet, sometimes you
just can’t tell time… Even I give him those; there are times that he gets cough
and colds often since he refuses to take vitamin
C which is very important for him.

What is Vitamin C?

“Vitamin C or L-ascorbic acid, or simply ascorbate (the
anion of ascorbic acid), is an essential nutrient for humans and certain other
animal species. Vitamin C refers to a number of vitamers that have vitamin C
activity in animals, including ascorbic acid and its salts, and some oxidized
forms of the molecule like dehydroascorbic acid. Ascorbate and ascorbic acid
are both naturally present in the body when either of these is introduced into
cells, since the forms interconvert according to pH.” Courtesy of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vitamin_C

It was late morning when I decided to go to the hospital to get my daughter's birth certificate for baptismal purposes. Apparently, I am not that lucky enough since the records' section is open only on weekdays. Hence, the security guard on duty told me to go back on Monday instead.

I'm supposed to go home right after I knew that I can't get the copy of the live birth of my baby... but hey, I just remember to get the result of my daughter's new born screening. So, I went in the nursery section to ask for the result. I was quite dismay because it was written in the window that the schedule on where parents/guardian can get the result is only from Monday- Friday 1-5 pm. I was really disappointed since it was just the only day I am available to go out from home.

The man who's waiting for the nurse on duty to entertain him helped me to get the result although it was Satuday. He helped me out to force the nurse to release me the result and luckily, the nurse allow me to get it. (Thanks to Him)

The time I get the result it was pretty nervous feeling in my part since I've done something bad to her before when she was still in my tummy. Read the full story here.
Being a mom has never been easy. I knew that even before when I was still a kid. There are lots of stuffs to sacrifice and so other things as well that are bounded for me to experience. Yet, I still choose to pursue what I am having right now.

There are options to choose for. And it depends on us on what path to select on. Although, sometimes I envy other people who happens to be same age as mine and enjoying their freedom I still never regret of having my 2 kids with me.

One of the happiest moment I ever experienced in my life was the first time I hear the cry and laughter of my 2 angels. Probably, moms out there felt the same way too as mine.

Meanwhile, becoming at this point where I am right now has never become as easy as what you all think of. Having my son with me is my will. (Funny, huh?) At the early age of 17 I dreamed of having a child already and so it did happen. At first I was worried since his father is not okay with what I have planned out then I was almost tempted to abort my son. Yet, thanks to my 2 BFFs who were there for me to continue my pregnancy. Later on, I got pregnant again after my son turned 1. Though, I was trying to control still it happened.

There, I made the most crucial sin I've ever made in my entire life. The time I knew I was pregnant, my world seems so hopeless. I actually don't know what to do. What keeps on crossing in my mind is that, I want to go back to school and finish my studies. Until I decided to abort my baby. The worst is that, the father of my kids supported my decision which he should not do but instead disagree in the first place. After trying to abort my baby, fortunately, it was not successful as planned. We tried to abort the baby again, and then I finally decided to let the baby live as what s/he should be, whatever s/he may look like or s/he would be. He never agreed on me, but nothing else he can do... It's still my body and I am only the one who has right on it. Until he accepted what I have decided on. We went to a hospital for an ultrasound test, luckily the baby's vital signs are normal and according to the doctor my baby is healthy.

After 5 months, I got my second ultrasound test. I found out that I was having placenta previa. The doctor advised me to rest and not be stressed. She also requested me to have a repeat ultrasound test for update. Right after that visit, the father of my children and I had misunderstanding which result to separation.

I was expecting for it though. He'd been acting so irresponsible the time I told him that I am going to continue my pregnancy. A month before I am going to give birth, I went to Cathedral Church here in our place and I ask for God's forgiveness towards what I have done for my child. At the same time, I asked Him and Mama Mary that my baby will not be affected with what we've done to her. If ever I could just give my life in return, I will do.
But despite of what had happened, I'm so thankful to God and Mama Mary that they heard my prayers. And I always thank God for his goodness not just to me and to my daughter but as well to those who believe in HIM too.

And now, I have a beautiful and wonderful DAUGHTER.

To all teenagers or perhaps, not prepared to have a child yet... don't engage yourself in premarital sex. If it happens you get pregnant by surprised, then let it be. Killing won't make you success neither free you from chagrin. Regretting will not either save you from your sin. Trust me, I did it too. You just don't know what's its consequences.

Kuya G just turned 2 years old yesterday! :)

How time flies so fast, right? And I won't be surprised sooner when time comes he'd be bringing a girl at home for me to meet (lol, so advance)..

Any moms out there who have teenagers already? How'd you manage to raise them confidently without worrying about teenage urge or let's just say about peer pressure? Perhaps, most of you are currently encountering this for sure (if you do have teenagers) unless they are afraid of you..

At the early age of 18, I bear my first son and by then I reached 19 I got my second child (daughter), with the help of my mom and dad I was able to raise them without having any father figure nor father to them at all. And it was a great feeling that though I don't have someone with me I still manage to raise them. What I am afraid of is that I may not be able to lead their way to the right paths of their lives due to fatherless reason. I know that it depends on how we raise them, but you just can't take away from me the worries I feel inside especially that I have a daughter.

Being a mom is not an easy role. How much more when you are a single mom? Yet, this is one of the most fulfilling jobs a woman could have in her entire life. I never regret of having my kids at very young age neither being committed with their father because without them, I am not right here writing this post neither felt the overflowing love I am feeling right now because of my angels. Though for some instances that my ex-partner and I had misunderstandings which end up to break up, I still thanked him that he had been part of my life. Because if he'[d not been there, probably I won't have Kuya G and Baby M with me.

I never dream of having a broken family but it just happen that we can't control our destiny. Although there are chances to make, options to choose and hope to trust, I'd still prefer to live alone with my kids rather than have another man in my life and leave my kids with my parents. Well, I'm not saying that all men are like these it just happened that I got a daughter and I don't want to hurt her just what every orphaned girls felt and I'm afraid that she'd feel the same way too in case of.

I told myself before whenever I have my second child again and if it's still a boy, probably I'd search for another man and this time marry him yet I guess it's not meant for me. And I'm not hoping for another man though, what I am hoping for is that I can raise my kids well and accordingly. I am hoping for that they won't get mad at me and get influenced by their friends which had happened to me. Frankly speaking, I don't want them to experience what I had before being their mother.

But still I believe that if we are there and ready to support them all the time for sure, we can bring them to right way. Just be a mother to them. Because being a mother is not just a role but a duty as well.

RH Bill. What comes into your mind when you hear these words? Probably, some of you are PRO with this while others are against in it. But, let me ask you. What are your your reasons why'd you hate it or perhaps, okay with it?

First of all, I am a PRO to RH Bill. I am a single mom and for me, RH bill doesn't have to do with me. But for those who are having their partner with them-- this has something to do with you and should all consider.

I know, everyone of us has our own destiny in life and our existence has reason. Maybe for some of you, stick to God's words. Genesis 9:7 "As for you, be fruitful and increase in number; multiply on the earth and increase upon it." (source: http://bible.cc/genesis/9-7.htm)

In My Own Opinion
I am a christian, I also follow God's words but let's be realistic here and come to think of the present generation. Due to over population, a lot of discrepancies have happened each day. People force to do bad things because of less job opportunities.

What could be its connection? There, you'd ask yourself probably. There are two types of ways on how a person could earn money to buy all the needs for himself and his family, it's either work or invest a business.. But the common source of income everyone has is from working. If we work, we earn. And if we earn, we can buy all the things we need such as food which is mainly the important thing we need to live, clothes, pay for shelter and other obligations we have. Aside from that, we can send our kids to school with all the stuffs and materials they need to study well. With that, if we don't work, we can't earn. And if we don't earn, we can't eat, live the way we always wanted to have and to be comfortable everyday.

But due to over population, less job opportunities occur.. Because of over population, people force to do bad things.. Because of over population, a lot of children suffer from malnutrition. But because of over population, a lot of family suffer from hunger and end up dying.

RH Bill doesn't mean KILLING.But instead, RH Bill helps each of us to live the way we wanted to be, helps us to be successful the way we've been dreaming of and helps us to raise our family happily and healthy.

If we start to apply this one in our lives, a lot of positive changes will happen in our country and so to our lives as well. Children of future won't suffer from hunger anymore, everyone can go to school without having problems with their empty tummies and we can all provide the needs and even wants of our family.

Although, a lot of you still don't prefer this bill... please, when you come up with a big family and at the same time with big problems... don't blame our GOVERNMENT. Because the time you are making that so called love, you don't even bother invite them.. so why blame?

And for everyone's information, it's birth controlling, not killing. It comes with different methods as well which a couple could choose on which one to apply in planning their future.

Besides, birth control has been practiced by many already even before this RH bill had been approved. If you are thinking that this bill will kill a life, you should read what RH Bill is all about.. before you react without pointing any thoughts.

Anyway, I still respect others whom are against with this bill. You have your own opinion too and so do I. After all, it's your choice whether apply this method in building up a family or not. And it's not mandatory though.
